It really isn't competing with the iPod at all is it?

No and I don't think it ever will to be totally honest, the itouch/iphone is in another league in terms of sales, features and software support, I'll be getting an itouch shortly, was getting an iphone but changed my mind as already got a decent phone lol.

Shame though as MS could have been onto something very good with the Zunes, just apple beat them to it and kicked their @ss's,

Apple products are just way too expensive as it is. It's too bad they don't have much serious competition.

THE NO divx, Avi support killed it for me.

So just for the record, does this thing have any advantages over the iPod Touch?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Don't really see a need to pre-order this, its not like more than a handful of people are actually going to buy it. You should be able to walk into the store once it comes out plunk down the money, and as long as you go within a week or so of it coming out, you will probably end up owning the first Zune Hd sold from the store!!

I have a 4GB mini zune and an 80 GB second gen Zune.

Should I sell my 80Gb for zune HD? What say you?

I really don't need 3 zunes...

There appears to be an app store for the Zune now. Good news.

You could donate one to the 'Adopt A MisterShine' campaign.

Can you get docking stations for your car?

Not, sure.  I have a charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter for my Zune now, but as far as docks go, not sure.  I think the Zune HD has an FM tuner built in that finds the best FM frequency for it to be broadcast over and you just change your radio in your car to that frequency.  My car has an auxilliary jack that I plug into my Zune that plays over my car speakers.
