If the PS3 gets a $100 pricecut, and the Pro gets a bigger HDD and gets renamed "Elite", its clearly the X360 sales that are looking to soar.
Of course. The logic is so solid. How can you doubt it? |
You don't know much about statistics do you? The only way you could even begin to contemplate trusting the results of a poll is if you were guaranteed to have a sample group that properly represented the population as a whole. For example, if I wanted to know what the national sentiment was regarding Obama's health care plan I wouldn't just survey the state of Texas.
The PS3 wins every single internet popularity contest, yet for some reason it isn't massively leading in sales. This tells us 2 things: first, that the internet skews towards the PS3, and second, that active forum users on the internet are not representative of the entire population.
That is why that poll is meaningless.
Now, with all that said, I am of the opinion that a price cut would help the PS3, and probably proportionally (wow, alliteration win) more than one would help the 360 or the Wii, but not nearly as much as the results of that poll would seem to suggest.
