How to Read the Chart: "The Last Gen Sales" column is the number of copies in millions the game sold last gen. The "% change in Game Sales between Generations" column shows how much the sales of the game have changed this generation.  A negative percentage means the game has sold less this generation than the game in the franchise last generation sold. The % Change in Platform Size between generations" column, is just how this gen's platform size compares to last gen.  EX. the PS3 has currently sold 82.46% less than the PS2 has sold. Below the black font, will be a different color, which is the games(s) in the franchise from this generation, that last gen's games are being compared to.

It is interesting that Forza 2 saw a greater sales increase than even Mario Kart Wii did. I also find it strange that that both the 360, and DS's games improve more over the sales of the games on the previous console, even though the Wii increased more over the gamecube than either of those platforms have over their predecessor. I guess that shows that the software that the Wii is selling is really to new gamers, or at least new to nintendo platforms.

Under Resident Evil Average you have for platform size 81.73 and percent change 45.97%, but shouldn't that be -45.97% as the install base for RE5 is only 54.50 million which is less than the average 81.73 million of all RE games?

Thanks for pointing this out.   I had just been taking the average of the % change for each game,but I should have been comparing the average platform size to PS3/360 platform size. 

You have updated the OP a lot. I was surprised to see that this gen's Pop game is actually up a little bit from the games last generation, even if it is only comparing the sales to the playstation 2 version of the games. I just thought the sales of the game had been very poor, but I guess that is only when comparing them to the sales of Assassin's Creed. It seems strange how many of the games have actually had an increase in sales this gen, there have to be some more that have seen a decline.

Mario Party 8 and MKWii are phenomenal!
