actually nintendos controller button apparition go like this:
nes: A, B, START, SELECT, game pad
Snes: game pad, L, R, A, B, Y, X, START, SELECT
N64:game pad, controller stick, A, B, R, L, C buttons, Z trigger, START
Gamecube: game pad, controller stick, C stick, R, L, Z, A, B, X, Y, START
WII: controller stick, + control pad, sensor, pointer, Z, C, A, B, 1, 2, +, -, HOME
the wii only changed x and y for 1, 2 and completely removed L and R in favor of the sensor and pointer.
