Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft getting owned outside of gaming too

Honestly i never really expected M$ to win the search engine wars ut honestly google caffeine doesnt even matter. Google is a house hold name and therefore could be the worst search engine and people wouldnt know/give a fuck. Caffeine = pointless to the average user much like the features of firefox are completly unknown to the average user

Since when is 2nd place = losing? They are beating Yahoo and every other search engine besides Google. They are beating every console besides the Wii. 2nd place does not mean they are the losers.....

Actually it's quote by Reese Bobby, passed down to Ricky Bobby.   And I knew someone would eventually say that!

Yep.

So much fail in this thread.

Let me educate you all here... There is display advertising and search advertising.

Display advertising is the ads, banners, popups you see on sites and is about 60% of ad reveinue spent online. Microsoft OWNS display advertising.

Hotmail, Drive PM networks, MSN homepage, Instant Messenger are all number 1 in their categories.

MS is beating google when it comes to overall advertising revenue...

MS going after google with bing is not "MS FAIL" but "MS WIN" as they are taking share away from Google.

Google tried their own messenger - FAIL!
Google introduced Gmail - While not a FAIL, they did not beat Hotmail.
Google has no diplay advertising what so ever.

Please people, stop embarassing yourselves when calling MS as FAIL!...MS pulls more profit per quarter than most companies people mention here pull in yearly. Online advertising is no exception.

^^MS has a rather large gaming advertisement studio as well.

Massive Incorporated.

They made a big deal with Battle.net to handle the ads over that as well.

Nice.  I have dealt with MS and Google for software services, MS was more than willing to extend the functionality of their services to fit our needs whilst Google was reluctant to do anything for us.
