Forums - Sales Discussion - Could the PSP's big Holiday games outsell the DS's?

It seems like everybody is just saying yes or no...mostly no. Maybe people should start putting their predictions for the games on both platforms, and maybe state the likelihood based on region as well.

Around the Network

PSP

Gran Turismo (Oct 1) = untested on portables, should sell well regardless

GTA Chinatown Wars (Oct 5) = late port

Tekken 6 (Nov) = fighting game on a portable (lol)

Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines (Q4) = unlikely to sell well on a portable

Little Big Planet PSP (Q4) = modest sucess

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (TBA 2009) = modest sucess

DS

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (Oct 12.) = pokemon on a portable, even if not main series

Mario and Sonic at the Winter Games (Oct 13.) = the sequel to a huge game

Cooking Mama 3 (Oct 27) = decent sucess

Call of Duty Modern Warfere Mobilized (Nov 10) = likely won't sell well

Mario and Luigi 3 (Nov in Europe/Others) = the best selling mario and luigi ever in Japan

The Legend of Zelda: Spirt Tracks (Q4) = the best franchise evar!!

DS will win, hands down

@ scottie

A very late port of Tekken 5 sold well over a million. I see no reason why this one couldn't sell just as well.

I'd like to know why Chinatown Wars (if actually coming this year) and AC are going to sell badly?

And if it sells a million, outlawauron, would that put it above or below Mario and Sonic @ the winter games? Or Zelda? Cooking Mama or Mario and Luigi? Pokemon Mystery dungeon should sell millions, the only DS game mentioned that won't break the 2 million mark is CoD:MWM

As I said, GTA:CTW is a late port, need I elabroate further?

AC will sell badly compared to the big hitters on this list, and you can quote me on this. It will be outsold (worldwide) by M&S@tWG, Spirit Tracks, Mario and Luigi 3, coooking mama and perhaps even Mystery Dungeon

The PSP's line-up has potentially good games.. for internet goers. The DS's line-up has potentially good games.. for everyone.

Pixel Art can be fun.

You can. It's not a bet or anything.

I think the PSP has a chance to outsell the DS in Japan towards the end of the year. I'm not talking the PSP having greater sales in the entire year of 2009 but that towards holiday, it has a pretty good shot.

You mean outsell hardware-wise?

Dumb Ass Comment, Are you just mad DS is destroying the PSP in sales?

LOL Zelda is going to pwn LittleBIgPlanet. Marios are going to beat AC and Grand theft auto. Pokemon is meh because its not main series. and Call Of Duty is going to kill anything else standing
