look what happen to microsoft, they were killed by nintendo, and have to be cheaper than both nintendo and sony.
even like that it having trouble with sony, and let alone haven't been able to outsell nintendo.

if it wasn't because microsoft had money from windows/office, it would fail like general motors it's being  killed by toyota and honda.

they may not be first place, but they are doing a lot better than they did last gen.  I think mostly due to them being out first.  I don't think microsoft would have done well at all this gen if they had come out the same time as ps3 and wii.

they would have a higher quality hardware, and not the hardware problems, and even making bigger profits.

I can see Sony trying to get out the gate early this next gen. I still think we will see a new console announced in 2011 by either MS or Sony.

Sony is in one of the worst spots imaginable right now, and will be going into the next generation. I don't think they can start first unless the PS4 is a Cell 1.5. They don't want to repeat what Sega did (poor Sega.......) 14 years ago.

Microsoft will probably be the ones to go first again, but this time, their console would've had a good 6 years on the market, and developers would have confidence moving on.


Has Nintendo ever gone first? They haven't before, and I think in order to avoid being underpowered again, they won't this time.

The Wii HD's graphical power won't be as strong as the PS4 or the Nextbox I think, but the Difference will be like last generation (weak enough to port, but not so weak as to look radically different).

But I think if Ninty did start first, that would catch the competition off guard and the momentum they go in with, coming off the Wii, could be enormous. They could win the "generation" before the competition even enters.

I think it would be a smart business move. Carmack has teh brainz. However, why would they need to make a new box? The cell can already end third world hunger, cure cancer and fly the space shuttle.

They may have to go first.  I think the key thing that could change the whole look of the game console race so far is going to be Natal.  Mostly because the media pretty much foams at the mouth at the mention of it (which I think is one of the key reasons the wii took off like it did).  If Natal actually takes off, Microsoft could be sitting pretty for a long time. 

However, if Natal bombs, then I think we'll be seeing microsoft come out first.  Thats what I think anyway.

I'm with him on one thing though, I would like this gen to go on for quite some time.
