I know there are numerous threads about this, but instead of fanboyism, lets post specs of both systems to settle the technical arguments here.

I know I copied and pasted it from Wikipedia, but I'm too lazy to post it all in a fashionable order myself. I didn't want to include the Wii, but it wouldn't let me copy and paste it without it.

There both great specs, capable of producing the best games and graphics.

Although I was surprised that the GPU in the PS3 has a faster clock speed than the 360's GPU is.

you ask which is more powerful 360 or the PS3, but for some reason have included the specs of the wii...very odd that you do that...

one thing we can say with 100% certainty is that the wii the most inferior console spec wise when all three are placed side by side...having said that, I wonder who will be the 1st to through out "but the wii is out selling the competition" argument...fun and games I say. ^_^

I actually said in my first post that I didn't try to include the Wii, but it wouldn't let me copy and paste it without it. It was all or none. Nonetheless, at least you know where the Wii stands compared to the other two systems.

The problem with the megahertz is that it's only useful to compare the same chip at different speeds. Small differences in cache size, bus speed or cache latency makes the speed comparison irrelevant. Cell and Xenon are very different chips, in an architectural way, the same can be said of RSX and Xenos, so speed comparisons are misleading.

Theoretical numbers only give you a slight idea of the possible performance, but in the end, it's a compromise of budget and time. These, and the capability of the developers, are the factors that provide you the amount of performance you can squeeze of the machines.

Playstation 3 is better spec wise. The xbox 360's potential has already been unlocked. And we have yet to see the playstation 3's (looks at agent, uncharted 2, god of war 3, final fantasy versus XIII, quantum, heavy rain).
