Forums - General - Pearl Jam and Alice in chains within 24 hours live!!!

As this seems to be my 500th post after somewhat lurking for almost 2 and a half years I thought i'd come up with something that's very important to me: music

Tomorrow night at 20.00 in Melkweg Amsterdam I will be attending a concert from my childhood heroes 'Alice in Chains', a crowd of 400 people max will make it a very intimate night with all classics from 'Dirt' and other great songs including probably 3 new songs.

Sadly it will be without Layne Staley, may he rest in peace.

Then, 24 hours later I will be attending a 'Pearl Jam' concert in Ahoy, Rotterdam!  To me one of the biggest bands alive, certainly live! A crowd of 12000 people means it will be my most 'intimate' PJ concert also. And with the re-release of the critically acclaimed album 'TEN' earlier this year and a new album coming september, I expext lots of classics from them. (They always deliver though...)

If you would have told me ten years ago i would be seeing these bands in two consecutive nights, i would have laughed my ass off. But now I am...sort of...

(the only downside, and a very big one to me, is that yesterday a cousin of me died of brain cancer... so i'm not really in the mood to 'party' and will be watching in remembrance of Michiel... and with anyone familiar with these bands' music and lyrics they'll know this is going to be very hard... Rest in peace Michiel, you were a good friend and relative!)

Sorry to hear about you cousin.

But Two amazing bands in 24 hours, I'm uber jealous about that.

Let me know how AIC is with their new lead singer.

We'll miss you George.

My friends call me Hadoken because I'm down-right fierce

Already saw 'm about 3 years ago, with Duvall... Although it is not Staley, who can not be replaced offcourse, he does a decent job, and Jerry backs him up really good.

I find the new song (a looking in view) really really good, and am really anticipating their new album.

Alice in Chains is not real without Lane Staley.

Around the Network

yeah...

but they still rock

Which surprises me.

I only have one song to go on, but it's REALLY good.

I know the Layne was a huge part of Alice in Chains, but Duvall, at least so far, has pulled his own weight.

Give him a chance before you pull the old

"OMGZ ITZ NOT LAYNE!"

routine.

We'll miss you George.
