Forums - General - Will the world ever unite?

It's possible, but it probably won't be in the way that is depicted on Star Trek, probably more of a NWO one world government that is run by greed and corruption.

Yes, that's the answer I was trying to look for.

The world shall wait for Dr. Manhattan.

i thought the world was ending in 2012?

No. There is no unity, love or peace left among mankind. There is only greed, corruption, anger and fear. A one world goverment will fail its people and eventually collapse. As will the Human race in time.

Haha, I think it is highly unlikely in the foreseeable future. The world is too greedy and too self righteous to ever form a single government.

However, regions with similar interests such as Europe will surely form united governments. So I think one day you may get 7 or 8 big governments.

I HAVE CONQUERED THE WORLD

i don't think so and one of the factors is religion.

Something drastic would have to happen for one direct world government to occur, however all government will get increasingly economically coupled etc due to globalisation.

The EU will slowly transform itself into a federal Government, essentially turning the EU into one country will all the members as states, much like the USA.

When this happens, one of two scenarios will take place:

1. Other nations around the world will start forming their own unions to help them compete internationally along side the EU and USA. There are already things like the African Union, but they're nowhere near as "far" as the EU. When the world has several large unions, they will start cutting deals, breaking down the barriers between them.

2. Once the EU has fully developed in Europe, it will open its boarders, and slowly start letting members in from Asia, and then Africa, then the Pacific, and finally, the Americas. This process, IMO, would be much more successful than option A for uniting the world, but it would take far longer to achieve (far, FAR longer).
