metal gear solid 4 is a must have
if you like online games give socom a try.

I'm not martin luther king. I don't have a dream. I have a plan

Sell a man a fish you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish you just ruined a perfect business opportunity.

We didn't emerge out of the stone age because we ran out of stones. Its time to be proactive not reactive.

I saw in your game collection that you already have bioshock and assassin´s creed. You should try resistance 2, which is much better than resistance 1. Don´t like ratchet and clank series? ( don´t have none in yours ps2 collection, you only have jak 1 and 3 ) get ratchet and clank tools of destruction if you like the series.

you should get some of these

- metal gear solid  - awesome, but wait a little because trophies are in the way.

- mirror´s edge - amazing and innovative game.

- uncharted , prince of persia ( best in the series ), tomb raider underworld ( very good game, underrated by most people ) - action / adventure

- gta 4 ( people say it´s overrated and that´s true, but is the best gta so far ) and infamous - open world

heavenly sword is an average game, protothype no good. Haven´t played killzone 2 ( anyway, wait for a cutprice ).

* top priorities

don't forget heavenly sword

Squilliam you recommended three games he had on the PC already lol
I"d say for sure Uncharted and Infamous and LBP those three have gotten by far the most play time of my PS3 games
Others I'd say would be Ratchet and Clank, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Heavenly Sword
and then there is also The Darkness which you could probably get for real cheap and Deadspace

lot of good recommendations
@Squillium: As ruimartiniman noticed, I already have bioshock and assassin's creed, which are both great games.  What he didn't notice was that I own Oblivion also, and hate it.  I like Bethesda, don't get me wrong.  They just made some really bad decisions on Oblivion.  If I decide not to get Colonization on computer, I will probably get it on PS3.  That being said, I'll probably get it for the PC.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your effort.  You just failed at this one

@ruimartiniman:  Thank you.  Because of your recommendation I realized I didn't have Rachet & Clank: Up your arsenal in my game list.  Game list +1; Now if I could only find time to play it.

Disgaea 3 - I heard a lot of good recommendations about this game, I think I'll get it.

Resistance/Uncharted/Killzone - I am trying to avoid generic FPS games.  Is there anything special about these games that makes them unique.  Besides the point I am more inclined to play FPS games on the PC.

Prince Of Persia - best in the series?  I've heard otherwise.  I heard the open level progression breaks the difficulty curve.

Mirrors Edge - Heard it was innovative, just put together very badly

Metal Gear Solid - What is there that wasn't in the previous metal gear games?  I'm not really concerned with story.

Heavenly Sword - Isn't that a generic (and bad) hack and slash game with a big rack on the box art to generate sales

Tom Raider: Und - Isn't that a generic (and bad) shooter game with a big rack on the box art to generate sales.

Little Big Planet - Isn't this game heavily user content generated?

I remain open minded despite my preconceptions about these games.  I wouldn't want to ask for people's opinions and then throw it in their faces when I think they are bad.  Feel free to defend your position.

Oblivion (lots of things to do in this game) Little Big Planet (fun as hell), Uncharted, MGS4, inFamous, Killzone 2

Bioshock the most innovating and unique single-player FPS since half life 2. (play on survivor difficult)

Uncharted: Indiana Jones of video games, with amazing characters and story. Third person action adventure shooter.

LBP is a must.

Flower PSN.

Infamous is very good

Demon's souls. The best RPG this gen for me. The Gamers game. (my goty 2009)

Disgaea, of course, since you like srpg.

MSG4 only if you know the 1,2,3 story.

My favorite ps3 games, in order:

LittleBigPlanet
Metal Gear Solid 4
Demon's Souls
Uncharted
Killzone 2

Followed by Street Fighter IV, Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet & Clank, and some others. But yeah, the five above are must haves.

Uncharted isn't an FPS it is a TPS and it is really fun. It can be hard at times but it has a good cover system. (The second one looks like they made the cover system even better) It has a good story line to it. Some platforming in it as well and beautiful environtments. I only rented it but i always wanted to buy it but never had the money for it as it still cost as much as when it first came out like 10 years ago lol.
