Well, the facial recognition thing that Sony tech demoed (Eyedentify) was, most probably, all shades and mirrors (or whatever the phrase is).

But the technologies are essentially just different ways of achieving the same goal.

No camera has "motion sensing" - it's all the computer calculating changes between the two different frames. Any webcam (or other video camera) can be used in applications that detect motion changes.

No.... Natal wasn't even designed as an Xbox 360 accessory at first. It was merely claimed by the Xbox 360 team.

I personally saw it that PSEye/Toy was a PC Webcam. While Natal is PS Eye inspired, but still get's mostly it's design from works already done from the PC field.

Smoke and Mirrors...That stuff is from 2006....And I don't recall hearing it got released....Also..I don't see how talking to virtual girls as if through video chat is like how Avatars can mimick your exact movements....That was more like Milo....I played with the Eyetoy when it was on Ps2....If some one stood behind you....or moved next to you....it would...well you know = Fail....Natal can handle multiple people around you and still track you...
