I wasn't actually comparing them, but rather explaining that it's largely thanks to Sony's conditioning through two generations of defective hardware that I've been so accepting of Microsoft's unacceptably shitty hardware.

xbox was a solid console , ps2 was suspect.

Should microsoft have mentioned that ps2's tend to stop working just out of their 1 year warranty back in the xbox v ps2 days?

Sony wouldn't pull a stunt like that and nor would microsoft for that matter.
