Xbox 360 has a 3 year warranty. The Playstation 3 doesn't. Why the hell would you chance switching if you're already a 360 fan and your 360 costs 199?

a ps3 will last more than 3 years =).

Not necessarily. We get reports of them breaking down here, about once a week. If they do break, you're screwed.

With your 360, which is half the price btw, you get a system for 3 years guarnteed no matter how many they have to send you out.

The warranty is what's important. Anything can break, not every company will replace said broken shit for free.

Remember that when shopping for high end electronics.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I don't think so.

Never had a single problem in two years of ownership, and while you can always find one or two token reports of consoles failing, it is abundantly clear that the newer units are vastly more reliable than launch models.

With that said, this thread should be locked since the thread title is flamebait, OP is a known PS3 troll, and the entire purpose of the thread is contained in the last line of the OP, push PS3's.

While the thread is obviously designed to push PS3s, I have to say, it's right. RRoD is here to stay.

RRoD isn't a problem, but rather an indicator of any one of a number of different problems.

If MS would change take the lights blinking off and give us an error message on screen, then the mass market, of which even the intelligent individuals are easily fooled, would believe that "RRoD is fixed!" When in reality, RRoD wasn't a problem to being with.

It's like if your fire alarm went off, people would say "I just got Fire Alarm" and then if you threw it out the window, despite the house still burning, many ignorant people would say "they fixed the fire alarm!"

Forgive the childish example, but many people wouldn't understand my post at all, without it.

small number, mainly launch 60gb that are 2 year+ old. and the 3 year warranty it's only  rrod and now e74, anything else it's just one year only

and it was forced warranty, if the 360 had no major problems like the ps3 or the wii it would be one year only, like any reliable hardware.

launch 360 on the other hand....

I bought my 360 in June of 2006. I sold it and all my games in May of 2007. I had 22 new retail games and a lot of DLC. Too many issues with the system in that short period of time. Almost constant frustration. Between my experiences, those of others, and the way MS has conducted themselves, I've resolved to never buy an MS console again. Since I sold my 360, I've bought a PS3, 27 new retail PS3 games 6 PSN games, a DS lite and another 10 new retail DS games. Don't like MS or the 360 at all.
