That is nuts... simply mad, why not go to 1gb first, so there is a very large scale card that we can actually afford!

?? 1 GB cards has been out in market for ages.

yeah we have 16gb cards and 32gb in production.

very cheap.

I still have a camera that came with a 16MB card

Though I use a 64MB card in it... I do find it interesting how fast memory capacity increases.

Damn! 2TB?! that could store WoW 100 times over EASY!

Need that for the portable powerhouse NOW!

I meant 100GB... I even have a 4GB card myself, so I don't know what I was talking about

I thought you meant 1TB. We probably won't be seeing those for another 2 years. Maybe sooner; it is pretty incredible how quickly solid state memory has been expanding.

I consider the jump from 32GB - 64GB cards a pretty significant jump by itself as it begins to break into the bottom end of hard drive storage capacities. 128GB to 256GB and you now have a convenient means of backing up systems, file libraries, etc. in addition to being able to transfer working libraries of files for content producers.

The only thing that hasn't changed (and won't, even with the new card specs) is transfer, read and write rates. From what the Sony site said, max rate is something like 480Mbits/s compared to the current 3.0Gbits/s for HDD. In this respect, SSD is still the successor to the HDD.

Hey, I could use that, my 4GB is not as big as I hoped to, already been switching in and out things

Wow. I thought I would have to own several memory sticks with my new PSP Go (when it comes out), to store all the games I'm gonna have for it.

Apparently I'll only need one. Ever.

Teh portable pr0nz!!
