Forums - Nintendo - No price cut for the Wii and Wii's successor is in progress said Iwata

I think the best bet is to wait until mid-late next year then cut a massive $100 off.... then when they launch the next one a couple of years after that, lower the Wii a further $50 (to $100)

I doubt they will do this though, I half expect the Wii to remain the current price until after they launch the next one, then they will cut it whenever they need to to keep sales going.

Sadly wii hasn't and won't be release here in Brazil. ¬¬

I was planning buying one in the States, but i had to buy a Stethoscope first (actually asked a friend of mine to bring me one - 180 dollars in the USA and 700 dollars in Brazil). Hate all these taxes...

Do you know why it hasnt been released in Brazil? Is the PS3 or X360 has also been released there?

Really don't know why. I mean, once video games were made here in Brazil. Back at N64's days, they were produced here. Nowadays only by stores that import them.

Two years ago, just as wii was released, there was an official importer, and it cost 1200 dollars. By then, ps3 was 3000 dollars ¬¬ Nowadays, i don't know if there's just one importer or more.

It's such a shame that they really overcharge video games.

What's "funny" is that now, ps3 and wii cost about the same and xbox a bit more. (ps3 U$700-750, wii U$ 650, xbox 800U$).

Why don't you buy them on ebay instead?

Well, I never knew the Wii would be worse off in price than even in Hong Kong!

Ppl here are forced to either buy the Japanese version or the American version, both cost more than certain 360 models!

I just don't get it, why people don't get it on ebay instead of buying it at those crazy prices.
