^ Famitsu have admitted that hype affects their score, something about trying to get a number based around the hype people have for the game or something.

They have admited that they score based off of hype...

That's not very professional...

All reveiws come down to an subjective verdict, but the verdict should be based on facts.

Wha? O_o But (the amount of) hype is a fact, therefore are you indicating that it is OK to base a review score on hype? A review should be based on the reviewer's personal experience of playing the game, nothing else.

No. Hype and "personnal" experience shouldn't matter in a review.

What should be considered is gameplay, story, graphics, value, sound, fun factor, etc. Take example of this site.

Those points are subjective too. Even the reviews on this site are subjetives and based on personnal experiences with the game.

Is that why 428 got a perfect score then?

Yes, all that plays into it. Plus politics, plus much much more. It's still a big thing. Like I said all other systems have had only one perfect score so far. And those were entire generations of games, Famitsu goes way back.

If hype affects Famitsu scoring how come that 428 fuseeta bla bla got a 10?

Since they said b4 that hype is big factor when they rate a game, the score doesn't mean much to me at all..

Really?  You did not seem to complain when "Metal Gear Solid 4" received a perfect score?

Samurai Warriors 3 time, now that MH3 is out, the next big thing is already here, I'm sure Koei waited until MH3 was out.

Also, finally a new Wii game announced, hopefully it's not a budget priced game or anything. But doesn't seem big, Wii needs more games, after Q1 2010 what else will they have in Japan? DQX but that's like 3 years away.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Of course there will never be a perfect objective view point. But there are ways to have a more standard procedure to review games in order to exclude personnal experience.
