^guys don't rub more salt on these poor bastards' wounds. You know, MS precious warranty is expiring for the whole crowd of them, so cut them some slack, they will open their eyes after that.

Meanwhile, every week's sales numbers rub salt on your wounds.

Any 360 manufactured prior to fourth quarter 2008 is ESPECIALLY vulnerable to RROD. Literally MILLIONS have failed and have been repaired. So the answer to your question is yes. Not only that, the repaired units repeatedly fail as well. This has been common knowledge for almost four years. Did you really think it would never happen to you?

When it comes to console reliability NO ONE and I say No One Confidently can fuck with Nintendo. They built their shit to last

Hell look how much effort they had to go through to break a wii with a sledgehammer

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

wow you are lucky that your consoles still works.

Get the jasper chipset thats indesturcable like the xbox tank. Jasper has an output wattage of 150W all 360's before 07 were garbage but after 07 they made the falcon and at the end of 08 they mad the jasper. Falcon is great and the Jasper is a TANK M$ fixed the poblem now we just have to wait for all the older Xbox 360s (05 - beginning of 07) to Burnout and then People would stop crying about RRoD. besides My GC died and my Ps2 got the DRE so none of the companies are innocent.

Lol.. There are barely any reports of Jaspers with RROD or E74.. That 30+ failure rate is BS right now. It has dropped significantly. There are no numbers yet though, since Jasper just came out.

No offence but everyone said the same thing about the Falcon. Everyone said the Elite fixed the problems with the origional 360. Heck thats why I bought the Elite to begin with. I thought Microsoft had worked all the bugs out and that the Elite would be a sturdy and reliable console. But not too long after I bought mine a friends Elite died. My Elite lasted 2 years but my uncles lasted less then a year and my friends lasted about a year. However I played my 360 less then any of them did.

If they replace my hardware like many say Microsoft does. Just replacing the unit then I hope I get a Jasper. But I have no faith in Microsoft's hardware anymore. I highly doubt I'll buy the next X-Box unless their is a seriously good warranty. The 3 year warranty has protected me this time, I hope that my new unit never RROD's considering that Microsoft only gives you a 3 month warranty with the repaired console. My uncle just got his back and he's worried because it says 3 month warranty but it took his longer then 3 months to Red Ring!

Well, it's different this time because Jasper is the first one to fully be 65nm instead of 90nm. As of now, there are only a handful of reports. Hardware is never 100% reliable, so there are always some faulty ones. I can show you vids on youtube where the PS3 disk tray simply does not pull the disk in. That does not mean it's suddenly 33% failure rate. It WAS like that, but now, it's much lower. In any case, we will have to wait and see. Jaspers only came out recently. We'll only know in a few years from now. Until then, we simply don't know. One or two RE5 consoles getting RROD is not proof for failure rate still being very high.

Read the first reply to that topic, and you'll see, why a handful of reports does not mean it's universally true, because that would mean that the Wii and the PS3 are just as bad.

And just in case you are too lazy:

I have 8 x 360's...

Since my first purchase at launch in 2005 I have only seen two RRoD's... Funny thing about it, they happened in the same week. I sent them both back... They returned, then a week latter I received a third 360 back... Now I have spares just in case.

Meanwhile my one Wii has been returned to Nintendo once for replacement and both of my PS3's have died twice.

my point was jasper didnt killed RROD like it should

it can overheat and die still while not as bad as before jasper will do it especially now, 6 months later it's starting to happen.

So you're basically saying that when all those old 360s self-combust OUT OF WARRANTY, instead of more whining (bitching, cursing, and eventually brand abandonment) people will just bite the bullet (the real $$$ one) and take a happy stroll to the store and buy a new one? Yeaaaaaaaaaah riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight........
