I considered this game for a first day purchase, but previewing the release lists only a week will separate it and Borderlands. Honestly that game rates higher on my list of games. Being that it is online, player skill based, and sandbox. Should result in a game with strong replay, and it will sadly probably retain its price point longer.
I am looking at a October game that may hold me over to the holiday. I want to hold on to as much cash as possible for the first quarter of next year for obvious reasons. Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Bioshock, and a few other notables. So I am not entirely sure where this will fall for me. I doubt it will even make my Christmas list I am looking more favorably upon Risen.
Had it launched in August it might have had a chance at my gaming dollars, but as it stands now September is Halo, October is Borderlands, and I do not intend to by buying for myself beyond that point for the rest of the year. At best I see me buying this game in late spring.

If it's like the first I think Outlaw will be the one to make it out on top in that deal.
...
@ Riachu, I don't quite get your post about the whole one color thing?...but that doesn't detract from the fact that the characters seem to have this unnatural aura of white light

Soon the Darkside will be irresistable and will crush the MS rebel scum underfoot.
The Wii owners are like Ewoks. The Evil empire will tolerate them but turn their forest moon into a secret base.

I don't see any unnatural aura of white light. Somes games tend to use various shades of one color.
Day one buy for me! :)
How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...
Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
