Did I just read that someone claims that this is just a "STFU" to Wii gamers with no intent on profit?

If this rates higher than a 2 on the 1-10 seriousness scale then you have reached ultimate face palm status.

It was sort of a 1.5. Am I good?

I can tell you were being facetious but BMaker11 semed to believe it fully.

As for your profit comment though, how can they not profit from it?  The game engine is already developed, marketing won't take as much, source material is already there, etc....  Being a port the staff will be smaller than a full game, development time is shorter, and more.

Profit will come with just a few hunderd thousand sales because so much has already been amortized and/or reduced in terms of cost.

It's called appeasement

It's called "that isn't why Activision is doing this, they just love money". I mean, appeasement operates under the assumption that, if the Wii-buying base gets mad enough, something will happen to Activision. Something bad.

There is nothing to appease here. They just want money.

Money money money.

Money.

Don't be ridiculous. The enthusiasts on the forums who have to be "appeased" are an insignificant section of the market. This is business, not politics we're talking about.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

This is interesting. A game that is a:

- big ip
- not a "niche" game
- most likely a good game

If this fails to sell HD numbers then it will get interesting with the excuses.

Er, it's not going to sell HD numbers. Those reasons are not sufficient.

Hopefully it will exceed CoD:WaW, but the fanbase isn't there on the Wii so it won't sell anything near HD numbers.

So what is it then? What does it need to sell like the HD versions? Wii has one big advantage, a much bigger install base than either of the HD consoles.

These toolbags are saying its " a six player online multi-player mode"

Fact or rumor??

We would have to be living in an alternative reality where the young male FPS fanbase was generally playing the Wii and not the other consoles.

let's hope that "six player online" is for the DS version... they talk at the same phrase about survival mode that i don't know of in the wii version

EDIT: also, HYPE!!!!! (someone should make an hype train for this game)

Congratulations, you have officially reached ultimate face palm status.

Because using resources and paying for over 100,000 man hours with massive profit potential and no impending threat is appeasement?  I don't think so.
