Forums - Nintendo - Call of Duty is comming to Wii this November

this game will flop double hard, one year old port on the ps3 flop hard but a two years old one on the wii will flop harder, plus wii is not as much of a shooter box as the ps3 so the flop will be immense, I hope they didn't spend to much money on that cause if they loose to much cash they won't release modern warfare 2 ever on the wii, for the wii owner who do get the game, then game on :)

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

interestingly, IGN is calling it a RUMOR:

August 4, 2009 - Activision's Call of Duty series is no stranger to the Wii, but the blockbuster Modern Warfare chapters of the franchise have yet to appear on Nintendo's mass market machine. Perhaps all of that is about to change. A rumor on Kotaku today posits that the original Modern Warfare is being ported to the Wii and will release alongside Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 this November 10.

According the story, Modern Warfare for the Wii is being developed by Treyarch, the same studio behind Call of Duty: World at War.

So, is it real? Modern Warfare didn't skip the Wii out of sport. It's a huge game that really squeezed a lot out of the Xbox 360 and PS3. Plus, the Wii just did not have the online community to support Modern Warfare's popular multiplayer in 2007. But MW is also a guaranteed moneymaker for Activision... and who doesn't want a sure thing in this industry right about now?

IGN has placed a call with Activision to get to the bottom of this rumor and see if there is indeed a Modern Warfare chapter en route to Wii. Check back to IGN Wii soon to see what the publishers has to say.

and it isn't featured anywhere else except Kotaku, no official press releases, etc

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Yes, at this point, I think that it is simply a Rumor. Who knows if Kotaku miscommunicated, and its actually MW2?

Well it's too soon for April fools and "Rumor" isn't in the Kotaku article's tag or title so.

Kotaku must be really lucky with the exclusive that's all.

So...Modern Warfare 2 on the Wii by November 2011?

yep, a possibility along with the possibility of being released side by side with Modern Warfare 3 on the HD twins...now that would be deja vu.

Grand Slam Tennis also might get released on PS360 as a late port when Grand Slam Tennis 2 lands on the Wii.

Same case for No More Heroes maybe.

Tssss, the third parties  :x

i love cod 4 so much i may be tempted to buy this, for the wii and for wii online with aiming

if they can do 16 players, i will get this.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Wii Friend Code: 4094-4604-1880-6889

Superior Controls might convince to eat this late port.

IF it brings ALL the content seen on PC iteration - regarding the Wii limitations of course - I might get it. Otherwise I have much more great games to spent my money late this year thankyousomuch Activision.

If you're all that much of a Modern Warfare fan, you probably already own one of the systems it can run on. As a Wii-only owner (albeit one with a great gaming PC) I have to say I'm amused, but not particularly fussed, by this move, and I don't think I'm in the minority here.

That's right.  You can play the game on your DS.  It's said to be better than average.

Cant really call it "Modern Warfare" after two years...

As much as Im disappointed its not a spin off or a stand alone game Im happy Treyarch is doing it, I trust those guys making Wii games. I feel sorry for High Voltage Software, this is going to hurt The Conduits tail which is showing signs of wagging.

Assuming this isn't a whole cunch of crap however.
