Some comments:

- The Xbox 360 dropped 25% (from ~77k to 57k) after Halo 3 launch week, but is still above pre-Halo levels (40k);

- despite rumours and announcement of the new 40 GB PS3 model and the upcoming price cut on the Starter Pack for this week, PS3 sales remain equal to the previous week. Next week, all eyes on PS3 hardware numbers;

- nothing worthy of remark on the Wii front, a small drop from the previous week, with some people perhaps starting to save up money for Christmas presents (this could have an impact in the next few weeks on all the consoles).

I thought EU numbers would have dropped, obviously they don't pay attention to the internet like many of us or they simply don't care.

I don't think next weeks numbers are going to tell the story, it's only 1 or 2 days of a price cut at best. I think the price cut and new bundle launches on the 12th so that is not really a good reflection. I'd imagine that Sony would be advertising their asses off about the announcement in EU but who knows with Sony these days.

 Their are not many people who knowed the rumour before 7 octobre the most just posted it yesterday :s.

I'm pretty sure the 40 GB unit launches on the 11th (Thursday), so we get to see the effect on 4 days of sales when the numbers come out next week. Same thing for the price cut on the starter pack.

EDIT - actually it seems to depend on the countries. In UK, it will be available from Wednesday for example. So make that 4/5 days.

40gb should launch at 10th but Im not sure if all shops are going to have it then. It became official than there is a new SKU on Friday so it could influence the last week's sales by much. And the rumors didn't begin last week.

Whats interesting is that 360 barely beat out Wii in UK for the week.
