Sci-Fi ruined Dino Crisis!!!!! ='(

@whoever said I dedicated this thread to Halo....

WRONG. Even Resistance had way too much SciFi crap for my tastes. Mass Effect, and even Dead Space as well. FFXIII with it's future look and showing battle with alien squids is a turn off.

Get your paranoia out of here. I just dont like sci fi games

I don't like science ficition in general. I remember that all my friends used to watch and collect Star Wars figures in elementary school, except me.

Star wars is "Fantasy" not scifi. Scifi has to have roots in actual science.

Star trek is SciFi since all the aliens are the shape they are in 'cause of evolution.

I think the problem is that a lot of science fiction games follow the genre fiction formula. I read an article that said that videos game stories and settings follow genre conventions too much. I like Sci-Fi but some games such as Star Ocean The Last Hope are just so out there and weird by trying to take themselves seriously with a half naked catgirl, a winged girl, and a seemingly retarded 15-year old girl in the body of a 6 year old. They are humorous parts but those seem to be unintentional.

Ooooh, someone missed out on Another World and Flashback and now is crying about it.

I can actually see what the OP is getting at, it can get grating to see all the cliches over and over. Personally I love the sci-fi games myself, what I don't love is steampunk and post-apocalyptic. Couldn't play Fallout 3 for the life of me. It's all preference.

Also, Killzone 2 is the very definition of sci-fi, this is not up for debate. On that subject, why do people want realism in their games? I play games to escape reality, just like I read novels and watch movies for the same. Why is it okay for a game to give you "realistic" weapons, but your character can get shot HUNDREDS of times and just have to hide behind a box for the count of 7 and be okay? Really, if you're going to do it, go all out, thats my opinion!

I love Sci-Fi games especially the older sim/combat games like StarLancer and Mechwarrior.

This is blasphemy!

The worse kind of sci-fi is Star Wars, where just everything looks like fantasy with magic or buildings are 3 million kilometers talls and spaceships could contain entire civilizations in them.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
