Forums - Sony - Watchmen sets Blu-Ray share record

I've never seen it either.

Gran Torino was superb though, Tranformers 2 though is terrible. Avoid it.

Gran Torino is one of the best movies made. The ending was quite...well unexpected. Too bad it's the last movie of Mr. Eastwood. Time goes by I guess.

^ But they get more Royalties than anyone else as they are the BD association's leading company. Also they get even more money per disk if it's their movie, obviously.

I wonder if Blu-Ray takes off, and hits near DVD levels of dominance - Would all the profits they make counter the losses they have made on the PS3 (Which won them the format war in the first place)?

This is wrong. Panasonic owns more in the BDA than Sony.

@ Vetterman

It wasn't the first week sales. I guess it was just a random week that it did that.

Oh, well then it doesnt really matter what the percentage was for Iron Man since they were refering to the first week percentage. Which Watchman was much higher.

Are you sure Panasonic has a higher stake than Sony?
Anyhow, Im sure it's a minimal difference between the two -_-

Well, I believe they hold 32% while Sony holds 29%.

Something along those lines. I remember Wiki had the percentages, but they're gone now.

I dont see blu ray ever taking off...its just technology that came too late. Even the people that i know that own bluray players dont buy blurays and thats sad. Call me a hater if you like but I just dont see the point in paying $35 for a movie when I can buy the same thing on dvd for $20. And I know what you're going to say, "but bluray has 6x the picture quality n00b lolololol"; not if you have a tv under 40" buddy...

Don't take this as me being anti-bd, I'm just a smart consumer ;) when they stop making dvds then maybe I will consider getting a bd player.

Smart consumers don't pay $20 per DVD movie :) Hell I pay less than 20$ per BR movie including all european taxes and unfair exchange rate rip-offs.

Also sorry but if my 50 years old neighbour can see a diffrence in BR to DVD quality on 32" LCD then it's pretty clear that person claiming you need 40" TV has never seen BR movie or doesn't have HDTV at home.

Blu Ray to watch Blue penis is HD?

I can see the appeal for some...

That penis was pretty big in the Imax theatre I went to. Like I said a scary experience and one I do not need to repeat in High Definition.
