This generation didn't start until the PS3 launched according to Sony so take out the early lead for 360 on launch then redo the numbers and see what they show...

This generation started the moment the first next generation console launched, this being the 360, just because sony were a year late doesn't mean it started when sony said it did lmao.....

thats a pretty dumb thing to say. and borderline trollish. There is no "this generation gamecube" (or xbox) for the first time ever there are 3 viable platforms.

and mike LOL @ your analysis

never because the Gamecube sold 22 mil in 5 years... ps3 is at 24 shipped (give or take) and its not even its 3rd year... plus its 3 times the price...

ps3 will end around 50 million... thats no gamecube sunny. in fact thats double (also double the 1st xbox but whos counting)

Nintendo was known for making great consoles after the release of the NES and SNES.  However, things started to go downhill with the N64 and bottomed out with the Game Cube.

I could say the same thing with Sony.  The Game Cube was the worst selling console of the last generation and the PS3 is this generation's bottom.  I think Sony will recover with the next generation, but the PS3 was a mistake.

It doesn't matter which system sells the most per year, but which system has more consoles sold in the present.

That's what really matters.

As you can see both consoles sell identical, Infact the ps3 is selling a bit faster than 360 overall.

Then explain why the X360 is outselling the PS3 every week.  Hmmm

umm, because its 200$cheaper its just outselling it by a couple of thousand thats hardly anything to brag about.
