Forums - Gaming - Activision. what do you think of them right now?

I only care for other half of activisions games (read Blizzard), I couldn't care less about activision itself.

That they are greedy money milking assholes who kill any innovation.

Seriously if they didn't merge with Blizzard I wouldn't buy single game from them.

isnt the company called activision blizzard? anyway, i like them, they make games, personally i think they shouldnt go public with their thoughts, if they want to threaten ps3 for example, threaten them, we dont care

yeh that really annoyed me, they say its to expensive and they might stop supporting it, but then go and put massive price tags on MW2 and DJ Hero...and lets face it, both arnt worth £55 or £95, rrrr they annoy me alot!

yeh i kind of like EA right now, they are improving on the crap they used to do yearly like Need For Speed (i still wont ever but a NFS) but its good that they are working harder, plus they are really im proving on sports games and they have great new IP's coming out! they are doing good lol

DONT YOU DARE SULLY THE NAME OF BLIZZARD BY ASSOCIATING IT WITH ACTIVISION.

I hate Activision as much as Ronster hates Sony. (But my hate is actually logical and justified)

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

the list for me goes on and on lol...you?

I care about games, not companies.

Of course, when a company sues another company to prevent me from getting a game, I can't be too happy with it.

I really liked Activision near the start of the generation...

But, Rock Band sells $20-30 track packs... Activision changes things a bit and sells $50-60 track packs...

Infinity Ward is the name I associate with Call of Duty success... Treyarch games are not as well written but are called Call of Duty even though they take the series in many different directions.

Suing a company because they kept going on a property you gave up on (Brutal Legend) is plain wrong.

Cancelling Wet ticked me off... Glad Bethesda picked it up...

The last Tony Hawk was crap...

Treyarch's James Bond QoS game was garbage...

Their comment about not supporting the PS3 (maybe) going forward was completely a grandstanding lie... It is not going to happen.

It just seems to go on and on. Maybe Activision needs to be taught a lesson.

This

I am happy with several of their games. Guitar Hero: Metalica and Modern Warfare being the highlights of the last several years. However, Activision, much like EA before it, has started to slip....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD.

They're comments about Sony, specifically directed towards PlayStation, made me lol for a good little while back there. They're attempt to stop Brutal Legend from coming out was also extremely sad.

I never understood the hate against EA especially now when they made games like Mirror's Edge and Dead Space for all those complainers.

It's really simple and can be summed up with 6 letters: DRM and NFS.

But they taken critique and changed their ways and ME + DS were symptoms of that change.

I think they're in danger of exhuasting some of their franchises, are looking to unfairly exploit certain other franchises to hike the price of games, and are overly reliant of a small number of key franchises (although you could say that about most studios I guess).

I slightly mourn the inevitable rise of large organizations such as Activision, EA, etc. at the expense of new IPs, creative risk and openness - how I remember the days when id, for example, would release full source code to the community.

So I'd say I'm slightly negative towards them in terms of how they have been and are conducting their business right now.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
