Forums - Microsoft - My 360!

Alright I know that almost everyone who owns or has owned a 360 has dealt with the RROD. But I have not, however my 360 Elite is beginning to freeze almost every time I turn it on. Its over two years old and it isn't under warranty anymore. I'm hoping it will RROD soon because if I'm correct their is a 3 year RROD warranty.

Does anybody know how much Mircosoft charges for a console to get fixed. I know Nintendo charges 85$ how much does Microsoft charge?

How would you go about fixing freezing?

My console freezes almost every time I use it, it lasts usually about half an hour then freezes up. My friends say that it happens right before it RROD's so I've been trying to run it into the ground and get the RROD but it just doesn't want to. What could be wrong with it to make it freeze all the time?

idk, but when u get the ring of death just turn off your console right away and wait 24 hours thats what i did and i havent had the ring of death for over a year now

the warranty is for three years not two

What I would do is turn the 360 on and put it in a closed cabinet until it overheats so you can get the free RROD repair =)

Sorry I misread your opening post. Wsrpa towels around it and leave it on along time. But watch it

i maybe the only one whose had their xbox 360 since day 1 and never got the RROD.

Wrap a nice towel around your 360 and make it red ring yourself. Then you get it fixed for free.

There's is a 3 year warranty for RROD but what kind of freezing are we talking about here? Mine has slowdowns (basically freezes) with my dashboard sometimes and that's more along the line of something else, not RROD.

My console freezes out right not a slow down. I'll be playing it for example yesterday I was on live and suddenly it just froze I couldn't move the screen was completely frozen. Sometimes when it freezes the screen turns all pixely, I just wish it would RROD already so I can get it repaired my three years is almost up!
