A real hardcore gamer stays single and never moves out of his parents' basement.

My sister is getting married soon, and the only reason she did not put a Wii on her registry was because they do not sell game systems at the two places where she created a registry.

They both want a Wii. I am flying down with my family, and am bringing my Wii so they will get a chance to play.

Well said. The Wii bridges the gap between gamer and non-gamer and makes it possible for a young couple to be able to enjoy playing togehter. I would imagine that it would be dificult to find a woman that would blast you to pieces in some UT, or toss the pigskin around with you in some Madden. The casual game market is fun for both, and for both to play together.

Ha, funny.  Hardcore gamers can marry but the fact that it's number one on registry for weddings shows that the hardcore gamer is forgotten by the Wii crowd.  How high was the 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, or DS on that list.  Probably nowhere cuz now middle aged men and women are using Wii Sports (and eventually Wii fit) to lose weight or because they have nothing to do once they get married and find out that they're barren.

^^^ Never said Nintendo hated the hardcore, but I'll elaborate, I meant that because of all of the "mainstream" people buying the console and not the hardcore people, Nintendo has to tailor their marketing strategies to get them to buy games (Like Wii Fit, Wii Sports, etc.) that people who play Halo 3 or Gears of War wouldn't buy. Just like people who play those games all the time wouldn't play Gears or H3. The big N had to change their marketing strategy to make money but it still screws over the "hardcore" gamer.

Sony is screwing the harcore by releasing a 40 GB. Why else would they be high up on the list?

Also weren't they making money BEFORE the Wii?

How are they screwing us by releasing the 40 gig, in actuality, they're pushing us into the next generation without all of that last generation crap. I mean, the PS2 games will be sorely missed but just keep your PS2 hooked up.
