I hate America... You're not allowed to do a thing there and they have no health care and if you don't have a job then you don't get money there... People without a job still get minimum wage here lol.

The police even asked for my id once because I was drinking beer with my friends and then they said we were too young. I'm 18 years old for crying out loud. How is that too young?
America has some beautiful places though like the grand canyon.

Same in England. Do you think these people deserve the minimun wage? Because sometimes i think it would be better off me sitting around not doing anything over having a full time job getting the same pay...

No they don't, JSA (unemployment benefits, essentally) is £60 a week... hardly minimum wage.

http://www.dsdni.gov.uk/index/ssa/benefit_information/benefit_rates.htm#jsa_cont

Because everyone in the world lives in North America and the UK right?

Sheesh... Here in Belgium you get €900 a month if you have no job. The only thing you need to do is to proof you're looking for a job... But it's easy to just call someone if they are hiring someone and then put down the phone. You also need to have worked atleast a few months before you're entitled to it, but obviously that's not a hard thing to do. A lot of people take advantage from it, but oh well... It's better then having a country filled with poor people.

EDIT: Oh, I didn't see you quoted some guy that was responding to me. My bad.

You say that as if it's a good thing...

You say you hate America and then bring up a horrible example of a system that feeds leeches. Shame on you.

Someone is working hard to gather those €900 to every leech. I think it's unfair.

I live 40 minutes from the CAN/USA border and have never been : /

I work hard to pay it to those "leeches"... Sure, some of them are leeches, but not all of them are. It's good for the economy and the taxes on our paycheck are about the same here as in any other country. Atleast my goverment doesn't waste billions worth of taxes for flying to the moon.

You know what's better for the economy? Those people working to earn minimum wage... it would mean lower taxes or the money being spent elsewhere, as well.

You've never been to the French speaking part of Belgium have you?

You'd have to teach them the word work first.

Ps: Unemployment % is higher in the USA then Belgium. No reason to complain. The system works. Most people that get this unemployment check find a job after 1-2 years. It's not like they keep living on it. I'd rather work and make €9000 a month(well my dad atleast) then to do nothing and earn €900 a month.

^Yeah, leeches are very good for the economy. They're even necessary for our economic growth and overall well-being. We would be poor and miserable without their invaluable contribution. I am so thankful. Especially for the immigrated ones. Please stay in our Hotel Europe.

No, I haven't, and I have no intention of going.

I do, however, study economics, and just about anybody that knows anything about economics will tell you that people working will benefit the economy, and that one of the ways to encourage work is to make the value of work increase, and making it so that working gets you more money than not working is, let's face it, the most effective way of doing so.

Then why is the economy of the USA such a mess compared to the one from Belgium?

One of the requirements to get this unemployment check is that you have to search for a job otherwise they'll cut you of. A lot of people that can't work anymore because of some unforeseen circumstances benefit from this system.

Take a step back from the short term, and look at the US's economy from a long term perspective - it's hardly such a mess when both Belgium and the US have very similar levels of GDP per Capita, and the US still has quite a way to go in terms of development.

As for the second statement, you boasted in an earlier post about how easy it was to bypass the unemployment check.
