Leaked GamesCom Document Reveals Unannounced PlayStation 3 Product: Real Or Fake?

PlayStation Lifestyle has received a document that reveals details on Sony's GamesCom 2009 press conference. The document was supposedly leaked by someone working on the show. Outlining the presentation to be delivered by SCEI CEO Kaz Hirai and SCEE president Andrew House, the list contains the following tidbits:

"2 x PlayStation 3 TOOL

1 x PlayStation 3 (Unannounced Product / Discretion advised by Client)

2 x PSPGo!

1 x White

1 x Black

2 x PlayStation EYE Camera (NOTE: Is not a Video Camera for recording Presentation, no fee required)"

The juiciest item on the list is the unannounced PlayStation 3 product. Sony is rumored to be announcing a slim version of the PlayStation 3 at the show, as well as a price cut. This adds fuel to the fiery rumor...or not. Gamers that fancy a slim PS3 should note that "unannounced product" doesn't necessarily mean a new PS3; it could simply mean a new bundle. More importantly, the document has listed the date incorrectly, so its authenticity should be questioned.

What do you think of this "leaked document"? Is it legit? Or is it a Photoshop prank?

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Tabulator: PS3 Slim and Phat sized up

With the announcement of yet another SKU for the PlayStation 3, it's time to revisit the Tabulator, our quick-reference guide to the system's continuing, incremental feature loss (and its rapidly falling price!). This handy chart allows you to easily compare the Slim to its heftier predecessors, both those still on the market (for now) and those who have already bid tearful goodbyes to shelves.

Looking at the differences in specs in this way, we can see that less has changed in the transition to Slim than between some variants of the original system. Which is impressive enough for us to try to overlook the loss of our beloved Ethernet cable.
