I just have to show those who keep saying that the ps3 is doomed why it will be the 4th best selling console ever.

These are the top 5 best selling consoles so far.

PS2 145m

ps1 102m

nes 61.91

wii 52m

snes 49m

As you can all see the wii is at 52m but at the end it will get to second best selling console of all time,

My guess for the wiis lifetime sales is 130m and the ps2 should sell atleast 5million more consoles before it gets discontinued,

with a total of 150million ps2s sold making it the best selling console ever.

The xbox 360 has been out for almost 4 years now and only has 31.5m consoles thats very low if you consider the fallowing,

1. It came out 1 year ahead of the ps3 and wii.

2. Its the cheapest console out right now.

3. It reached mass market price a year ago.

4. Has the most games in its library.

5. Has the best online.

I also believe that a new xbox will be out in nov 2011, This is something that worked very well for them with the xbox 360,

If they didnt release the xbox 360 1 year before the ps3 they would be in 3rd place right now.

So my guess is this, if the xbox 360 sells another 25m consoles in 2 years it will only add up to 56.5m total,  Which is very unlikely.

And now i will tell you why the ps3 will be the 4th best console ever.

The ps3 is at 23m right now and should reach atleast 25m by the end of the year,

Thats 25Million sold in just 3 years at an averge price of (500$ a console)

And the ps3 has 10years in it just like PS2 and PS1 did and maybe more.

As soon as the slim 300$ PS3 releases late this year or early next year along with alot of exclusives like GT5,god of war3,uncharted 2,heavy rain and many more its going to sell like crazy.

So if the ps3 only sells 10million units a year starting next year with the 300$ slim for just 5 years that should bring their lifetime total to 75million or more in its lifetime. 

And ofcourse we all know it wont just stay at 300$ for 5 years it will drop to half of that at the end.

And now heres the list for when all is said and done.

1. PS2 150m

2. WII 130m

3. PS1 102m

4. PS3 atleast 75m or more

5. NES 61.91m

6. XBOX 360 55 to 60m if its lucky.

This is a console discussion only dont bring up any handhelds.

A 10 year lifespan is a function of consumer acceptance. Only winning consoles from any generation can be sure to achieve this, the PS3 is not the winning console.

There have been no substantiated rumours of any Xbox 360 replacement. Also statements from Microsoft directly contradict any idea that you can say that 2011 will be the year a new Xbox will be released. However there have been semi-substantiated rumours of an additional 4 hardware revisions which imply otherwise so with no evidence to support an earlier release and a little evidence to support a later release you'd have to go with the later release for now.

So in short, you have belief rather than proof or even evidence on your side.

If my belief is = to your belief then if I believe something to the opposite of what you believe does that not cancel it out?

I guess you missed the part where i said that it only has to sell 10millions units a year starting next year at 300$ps3 slim for only 5years

to reach 75million ps3s sold, Whats so hard to belive in that?

And just because microsoft released a statement about how long  the 360 will last doesnt make it true,

These are the same people who said that the 360 only had 16%failure rate when infact it had 33% failure rate.
