There is no quoted mention of products, however if you follow the link it says:

That is only the article speculating though. The Samsung guy only states that "We are aware that Sony is looking to slash prices as we talk to the same retailers". The article then assumes this means TV's, PS3 and blu-ray players when it could just be TV's (although I would be shocked if it wasn't the PS3 aswell).

Maybe the Samsung employee let it loose in an un-quotable infomal discussion. although that's unlikely. The site must have something to back up that paragraph though, but even if they don't I think it's common knowledge that it's true.

I guess increasing their debt by 63% to $10 billion in one year wasn't enough.

Anyway, of course Sony needs to be price competitive to keep their brand well known in this economic environment.
