Forums - Sony - Carmack confident RAGE will be 60fps on all platforms

I'm pretty annoyed at Edge reporting on this. They totally misrepresented him with how they chose to present his words, causing the usual internet fanboy shitstorm, only to look silly as now the news is being updated they didn't quote him fully and for whatever reasons badly edited his words such that his meaning was twisted.

Poor form, really.

So basically what he said was PC is fine (no surprise there), 360 framerate is fine but texture handling isn't optimized yet so there's work to be done there, PS3 framerate isn't there yet to there's work to be done there...

Oh, and we fully expect the final shipped game running of the final, optimized engine built, to perform equally on all released platforms.

Nice one Edge, I really got that from the original article.

exactly edge are pathetic, its not pro journalism

you should have read thier e309 after show articles. every ps3 game shown they ended with a dampener statement, and every 360 game they ended with praise.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Around the Network

One thing that bugs me...  all platforms running at 60fps.  PC's are not capped at 60fps, PC frame rates run from between 1fps to 200+fps and beyond.

Only reason I cap my frame rate to 60fps with V-sync enable is because my 22" monitor is only cappable of displaying 60fps @1680x1050.  But im sure in the future 100hz montiors will be coming out etc.

PC gaming rules.....

^^

I doubt PC will be capped. I'm sure he's indicating they're aiming for 60 fps on consoles as standard and 60fps on PC minimum. When have id ever capped performance on a PC title?

The focus on his comment anyway was the grumbling about PS3 vs 360 frame rates and he was just emphasizing that when the title releases they will be running at same rate.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
