There were 2 conference calls held by Sony to discuss their financials. Siren posted a link to the call that did not discuss the 70% cost reduction. I posted a link to the Sony call that did discuss it. The article was written about the call I posted. Think of it like the end of a Perry Mason episode, if you know who Perry Mason is.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.

People only believe SONY lose money making PS3s. As soon as it sounds like they're going to make money, people can't believe it.
it's true
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
ok, I listened to the phone call myself, the figure 70% was indeed mentioned about the cost reduction of ps3, but it was like"we can't tell you exactly how much, but there's roughly 70%, you figure out 70% off what number".
So he didn't actually say it was 70% from the original 840$ , that part was assumed

i listened to the conference call and i heard the quote so it is true that he said that costs were reduced 70%. I don't believe that the costs have been reduced to $250 or anywhere near there, but really we don't know the starting point to that 70% figure.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
yes the thread is wrong, i listened to it myself he did say costs were cut roughly 70%.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
