I'll try to make this short. I have 2 RAM sticks (2GB each, 4GB in total) and I'm running Windows 7 RC 64 bit everything was going fine. I had all 4 GB of RAM, played games and went online you know the usual stuff.
A couple of days ago problems started happening. I get a Blue screen and something about Dumping Physical Memory. It happened a couple of times, so I went online searched for an answer and found out I need to make sure that the RAM sticks are instilled properly, so I did. I open the case and took the RAMs out and putted them back in, now the system starts and the fans start spinning but there will be no video at all. after a few tries I was able to figure out what's wrong.
This may get little confusing so like I said I have 2 RAM sticks let's call them RAM stick A and RAM stick B.
RAM stick A will NOT work with any slot on my Motherboard neither the 2 Yellow one or the 2 Red ones.
RAM stick B will only work on the first Yellow slot, The second Yellow slot and the 2 Red slots give the same results as RAM A which is no video.
I contacted the RAM manufacture (OCZ) and did what the told me in regrades to changing timings, command rate and voltage from my BIOS and also cleared my CMOS (the round battery thing in the MOBO) but still nothing.
I contacted the MOBO manufacture (Gigabyte) and cleared my CMOS again and updated my BIOS version and still nothing. I was trying to determine whether the problem is the Memory sticks or is it the Motherboards slots fault. The Gigabyte tech support guy told me the only way to know that is to try different set of RAMs but I don't have any.
So I wonder does anybody know anyway to figure out if the problem is from the RAMs themselves or the RAM slot of the MOBO ??? because I'm going to return the RAMs tomorrow to exchange them for new ones if the are bad and since the process takes 2 weeks I was planning on buying new RAMs (from a different company this time) and whenever I get my new replacement RAMs from OCZ I will just sell them or figure out what to do with them when the time comes.
