The plane in the clouds looks amazing

These look pretty good, but CGI-Quality the biggest thing with the uncanny valley phenomona isn't in still pictures. The biggest problems with most CG is the facial expressions/movements is what throws off all currently generated CGI. Still photo's are not always as impressive.

Some of those are really good, but this is the worst and least realistic one of the bunch.

Actually, that's a very good picture. Looks quite realistic if you ask me.

I think sarcasm wa used here, or at least, that's how I understood his post, cause if anyone hadn't told me it was CGI, I would say it was a nice foto of a house on sale.

Interesting stuff. Agree on the clean comments, though. Kind of reminds me of how the original Star Wars movies seemed very real and grounded because everything was scuffed, dirty, etc. then with the prequels Lucas went crazy with CGI which technically looked stunning but never felt as real as it was just too clean.

Still very impressive renders, mind you.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Actually, that's one of the few posts of mine that isn't sarcastic.

The shadows in that picture are somewhat off, the lighting isn't quite right (look closely at that white night stand), and the way the creator handled depth in a couple areas isn't particularly well done (look closely at the head and foot boards of the bed).

If you don't see what I mean then don't worry too much about it.  It's a good image with a few problems that just seem to really leap out to me.

Man, I misunderstood you, cause that image looked so real to me, and the ligth added to the sense of reality, IMO. I already saw this kind of effect on blinds before. That's why I thougth it was sarcasm, cause it looked so real that, well nevermind, I must have a bad eye for this kind of stuff.

It would trick me if it was shown in a real state web site.

He says he's done this in Maya. But what's the technique exactly? Did he model all the 3D objects individually and placed them?
