Again, how do their sales coincide? Alan Wake is coming in the Spring of 2010, is a new IP, and IS NOT in the same genre as Uncharted 2. How do they relate, at all, besides fiscals? And even with fiscals, so? Killzone 2 came in the same fiscal as Gears 2, did it compete with it in sales? I don't think so...

He made the connection, ask him.

In any case Gears and Killzone 2 both have a connection as games with massive hype coming out of E3 2005. One became a symbol of Xbox 360 success, and the other became a symbol of something else for the PS3.

Killzone 2 was a success even if it didn't perform to OUR standards. It's still seen as the best looking game right now on consoles, shifted 750,000 in it's first few days on the market, and helped spike the PS3 that week. It's nothing to write home about, but it did fine.

The best looking console games right now are infact 2d because it doesn't take much performance or effort to perfect with modern technology.

Killzone 2 = Graphical effort != sales.

Killzone 2 = Sony being late in releasing key software.

Killzone 2 = Hyped game which became forgettable within a few months.

ALL your opinion, and not a shocking response at that. You've been at the forefront of Killzone 2 negativity, but that's another thread.

Really now? I've hardly mentioned Killzone 2 at all. Furthermore my personal opinion of the game is seperate from my opinion on its performance.

How is any of the above not true? Killzone 2 is the 'best looking' game but its sales are poor relative to a lot of vastly inferior looking games. Because its the 'best looking' it earns that comparison. Killzone 2 was also late, it came from E3 2005 and therefore why wouldn't it symbolise late delivery of certain key titles? Lastly I've seen talk about Killzone 2 drop off the forums so therefore its a really hyped game which is being forgotten. I've noticed several people mention this.

My personal opinion is that its a AA+ game, not a AAA game because it doesn't quite have the mastery of some other developers in terms of gameplay/level design and character design, but its good qualities vastly outweigh the bad. The multiplayer is really good but it isn't for me because I don't like online shooters. A solid 85-90% effort which I can give objectively even if I liked other games a lot more.

Since the PS3 don't have much else this year Uncharted 2 will easily be GOTY for PS3

Ps3 already had Killzone2 and Infamous. Both received AAA scores at IGN and GameSpot.

Try again.

@CGI-Quality

Are you in a bad mood today?  Cause I haven't seen one smiley face from you in this thread!

These were 2,3,4 in the first 4 results on Killzone 2 by me. The first was saying that Crysis had better visual fidelity.

Lets all join hands and make a giant hippie circle where we can talk about how much we all appreciate each other!

graphically Lost Planet 2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Uncharted 2
seriously just compare enviroments(Uncharted 2 looks so blurry especially on the first screen). Lost Planet 2 have thousands blades of grass that react to wind, monsters, players and explosions in REAL TIME and all of that in huge enviroment with monsters that make King Kong look like friggin dwarf, graphics better than Killzone 2 and most likely 720p and 60 frames per second - that's a GRAPHICS KING.

driving games is a different thing here and for me Forza 3 easily wins hands down. though Dirt 2 and Split/Second may give this game run for its money.

Waron, you're back! Too bad you brought Uncharted 2 hate into the Sony forum.

I hope the multiplayer maps are more varied in environments than map brown town and map Blue and Black.

Seriously those 2 maps were a little pit boring tbh. Good thing that Infamous was worth the money however.

Second pic is the best. I'd still say that Gran Turismo 5/Forza 3 are by and far the graphical kings right now. This looks like Splinter Cell with better character models, which is still fantastic.

and Splinter Cell looks like Metal Gear Solid with worst character models. Whats your point?

Splinter Cell Conviction laughs at you hard. Uncharted 2 imo does not look better than KZ2 or any of the following. Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction and Forza 3 all win.

^ Wow, when you put SC and Forza up, Alan Wake actually looks quite shoddy.
