Again, how do their sales coincide? Alan Wake is coming in the Spring of 2010, is a new IP, and IS NOT in the same genre as Uncharted 2. How do they relate, at all, besides fiscals? And even with fiscals, so? Killzone 2 came in the same fiscal as Gears 2, did it compete with it in sales? I don't think so...

He made the connection, ask him.

In any case Gears and Killzone 2 both have a connection as games with massive hype coming out of E3 2005. One became a symbol of Xbox 360 success, and the other became a symbol of something else for the PS3.

Killzone 2 was a success even if it didn't perform to OUR standards. It's still seen as the best looking game right now on consoles, shifted 750,000 in it's first few days on the market, and helped spike the PS3 that week. It's nothing to write home about, but it did fine.

The best looking console games right now are infact 2d because it doesn't take much performance or effort to perfect with modern technology.

Killzone 2 = Graphical effort != sales.

Killzone 2 = Sony being late in releasing key software.

Killzone 2 = Hyped game which became forgettable within a few months.

ALL your opinion, and not a shocking response at that. You've been at the forefront of Killzone 2 negativity, but that's another thread.

Really now? I've hardly mentioned Killzone 2 at all. Furthermore my personal opinion of the game is seperate from my opinion on its performance.

How is any of the above not true? Killzone 2 is the 'best looking' game but its sales are poor relative to a lot of vastly inferior looking games. Because its the 'best looking' it earns that comparison. Killzone 2 was also late, it came from E3 2005 and therefore why wouldn't it symbolise late delivery of certain key titles? Lastly I've seen talk about Killzone 2 drop off the forums so therefore its a really hyped game which is being forgotten. I've noticed several people mention this.

My personal opinion is that its a AA+ game, not a AAA game because it doesn't quite have the mastery of some other developers in terms of gameplay/level design and character design, but its good qualities vastly outweigh the bad. The multiplayer is really good but it isn't for me because I don't like online shooters. A solid 85-90% effort which I can give objectively even if I liked other games a lot more.

Tease.
