Can we low the scores of ps3 games because of R2/L2?

But war... war never changes

It is fair on a fighter like this.

Anyway, i can see why they gave the PS3 version a better score.

A good D-Pad in fighter games is necessary, unless of course you have the arcade stick.

Well, you can use a PS2 controller on the Xbox 360, fyi. I am right now. Basing a games review on one of multiplat controller options, just because it is the most commonly used, is dumber than a brick full of shits.

So, because the Xbox 360 version of the game, was reviewed with the Xbox 360 standard controller... its a shit review?

Only if you deduct points, as well as fail to mention the alternatives, when comparing a game to a competitor, all the while praising the competitors controller, despite the fact, that you can use said controller on the Xbox 360 as well.

It's like me reviewing World of Warcraft, and complaining that there aren't enough buttons on my mouse. The game obviously requires more buttons, and thus, I take points off, because my standard 3 button PC mouse isn't the best controller option.

Or if they don't like that, why not use a...I dunno...fighting game controller.

Should they take points off Twilight Princess because I didn't want to use my Gamecube controller, and was forced to waggle?

...well Carl?

What the HELL are you rambling about? You seriously  believe that one should have to buy an arcade stick for a PSN/XBL game to be able to enjoy it to the fullest on the 360? Well, if you have the money to throw around, be my guest... And your analogies are just plain retarded. Everyone with a PC have keyboard (for WoW), and if you wanted to use your gamecube controller on a NEW SYSTEM (Wii), you could just buy the GC version of Twilight Princess and play it on the Wii or simply just play it on the GC... You are not forced to waggle in any way, and besides, if you buy the Wii you are well aware of the controller alternatives that come with the system... Try harder please, PLEASE! Your arguments really amuse me...

And yeah, the average XBOX 360 user sure wants to buy $80 peripherals to use PS2 controllers on their system... You are just deluded, and if you need to spend all that cash to be able to enjoy experiences on the 360 (not saying you have to), you should just do yourself a favor and drop the system because of all the hidden expenses you have to put up with...

Seriously... ...... .... ......... ....... ... Zenfoldor... ..... ............... ....

OT however: FAIR of IGN to take points of the 360 version because of bad controls. In my opinion it should have been more points off. A decent D-Pad is essential in every fighting game if you do not have an arcade stick. From my own experience, I play Street Fighter 2 on my PSP quite regularly, and when I had the oldest model of the PSP, I simply could NOT use the D-Pad and had to use the stick... I did not like it. This however changes with the PSP-2000 where the D-Pad was much better and enhanced my gameplay experience a lot!

I hope we will see more reviews like this in the future, no matter which console that get scored lower. This is a way to seperate multiplats from each other on the HD-Twins.

Slow but Gameplay = Score it seems

Pixel Art can be fun.

Who uses pads anyways? Maybe at my friends or when I have get overs because we all don't have forty sticks to throw around, but serious competition and playing requires a arcade stick.

I use the dpad for fighting games and PES

Not surprised to see you defending this, but you really don't have a case as I see it.

They reviewed a game for a console using the controller that 99.9% of that console's install base will be using, and subsequently took of a few points since the experience was slightly inferior.

Doesn't seem unreasonable whatsoever, and "but, but, but... you can plug in a PS2 controller!!!111" is just reaching.

Edit: Oh, and your WOW analogy is a nonsense as well, since mouse and keyboard is pretty much always a combined control set, so splitting them up artificially and then complaining at the mouse on its own is a flawed argument.

Oh okiech.

It's just that simple.

On the review it says that the 360 version has online issues wich will be a trouble for tournaments. thats why they gave it less

Best Value in the whole market, not just gaming !

You can fix the 360 d-pad yourself; all it takes is the right screwdriver and some sandpaper. Personally I use a SFIV Fightpad, which works just fine. Those who are truly serious about fighting games have several quality arcade sticks to choose from. It's a minor issue for some casual players of fighting games, but most of them will be just fine using the analog stick.

I'm not gonna complain about the reviewer, though - obviously the horrible stock d-pad mattered to him. I'll never understand how that d-pad made it through Microsoft's testing, or why they never bothered to fix the problem.

Haha, well... I feel like an idiot now. I knew IGN wasn't that stupid! xD

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

They should just give it an 80 or less for 360 version and more fighting games that way MS can give us a new controller model. There are plenty of fixes for 360's d-pad though.
