Initially i wanted to say welcome to pc gaming 10 years ago, but then i remembered those CRT monitors could display hd ready and better resolutions perfectly fine :)
I guess i live in a wealthy country then considering i don't know anyone who would still play ps3/x360 on crt.

Holy shit that must be horrible, luckily I was gaming with my PS3 with a TV over 60' tall before our family upgraded to HD altogether.

Well England is expensive but not that expensive.
He just doesn't have a lot of money and his family needs come before his own.

I guees they couldn't afford a better monitor after paying for live then? Anyway, Gears has nothing to do with the PS3. Screw the framerates off people with an sdtv anyway, hd gaming on lowtech don't mix babe. Like getting a F1 frame and putting a Volkswagen beetle engine i |
WTF? You do realise that having an HD TV just isn't a priority for a lot of people. I hope you do anyway. Just because I have a $2000 PC, $5000 53" Bravia doesn't mean that I don't know people who could pay cash to do the same who still have SDTVs.
Tease.
| Untamoi said: Wait... PAL standard has always had 50 Hz frequency while NTSC has 60 HZ. PAL has NEVER been 60 Hz, 60 Hz only came to Europe with HDTV. Most old CRT TV's in Europe only supports 50 Hz so they can't even do 60 Hz. Games have been slower in PAL because TV's there can't even do 60 Hz. Better CRT TV's has 100 Hz but not even those always could do 60 Hz so supporting 50 Hz serves only very small audience (mostly newer LCD SDTV's). |
He's completely right 50HZ was the norm and only high ends SDTV (like Bang & Olufsen) supported both frequency.

Normal people buy new TVs when the old one breaks.
The one I game on is 14 years old. (and yes it supports 60Hz, so I use that over 50Hz)
