Forums - Gaming - Who could care less about online in their games?

I have been playing games since I began with the Odyssey, so I have been around gaming for a while.  I have never gotten into online gaming though and I just cannot no matter how much I try.  I do not care if a game comes with online or not, and this never influences my decision to buy a game.  There have been a few games that I have enjoyed online like Mario Kart Wii and Grand Slam Tennis, but there just is not that many.  Granted, I only own a Wii this gen, but I have no desire to go online with shooters like The Conduit or Medal of Honor, which I have had both.  Anyone else feel the same way about online.  I guess I would much rather have local multiplayer than anything.

some wii owners arent very competitive which is way wii's online isnt great

Well it depend on the game.....

I wouldn't mind if e.g. Tales of Vesperia had proper online instead of just multiplayer.
For stuff like BlazBlue I'm glad there's online because I'd never find someone to play with.

For most games though I prefer single player.

I love online. Nothing beats the trill of beating actual people in unpredictable situations. Single player is often too predictable for the miilions of gamers like me.

This.

And for replay value you can't be online gameplauy

Too many online games these days, sometimes if feels like they put it in so they won't have to do a long single player game,

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Online is much more fun than single player.

Just wait till MW2. I love online playing with people and killing them.

I agree with xXProphecyXx, it depends on the game. I love Halo and without the multi-player the game just is not the same. Same for titles like Gears, L4D (obviously) and others.

When it comes to other action based titles like Resident Evil, Dead Space, or RPG titles like LO, or Mass Effect, I could really care less if they have multi-player at all. Nintendo does a good job of making titles that are enjoyable regardless if on-line features are a part of it or not, considering the majority do not support it.
