I'm not sure if many people know this but there were 2 versions of wii sports made.

1 was made before the jackets came out, the controllers in the game don't have jackets on them.

The other was made after, and does have a jacket on it.

Nintendo doesn't sell the one without jackets anymore.

Could they be a collectable in the future?

I do not think so. Though I have it

A few years ago "The Antique's Road Show" mentioned collectible video games. For the most part, nothing is collectible. The only valuable items are in mint condition and or exceptionally rare. I cannot remember the name of the game they called the Holy Grail of video games, but it was worth $1,000. However, I do remember the Atair 2600 game made by the ADA to promote dental hygiene. It was worth $200. I highly doubt any of the mentioned games will be that valuable. Who would want a video game made by the ADA. :)

I always wondered why greatest hits versions of games aren't worth anything. It is the same goddamned game, sometimes with extra content.

There's a lot more difference in Wii Sport versions than that. Newer versions having boxing replays and I think some openning baseball clip. I have an original launch version but I doubt it's worth anything. Not with millions of them produced.

The only game that commands thousands is the Nintendo World Championship game. The Gray ones are worth a lot, but a gold one easily goes for 3-5x more. The following website has the prices of recent documented sales of the game. There are a few games with a couple hundred dollars, but not to many of them.
