Forums - General - Vote Ron Paul for President!

Well I just watched the first video and I must say he seems to have some good policies and some bad ones.

Abolishing taxes is stupid and even worse is abolishing the federal reserve. They sound good on paper but I highly doubt they would even slightly work in practice.

I also support Ron Paul.

Just so Clinton supporters know, Ron Paul was one of the ONLY Senators to vote against the war (Hillary voted for it) and he has been one of the most staunch people calling to get out.

Ron Paul is a true Republican and not some neocon.

Hillary's Campaign scares me, I'd much rather have Obama then Hillary.

Personally I'm rooting for Clinton, largely because her husband did a good (if somewhat promiscuous) job as president, because she isnt a republican (the Iraq war has put me off republicans for a bit) and because as a woman she will absolutely piss off the conservative christians and red necks, which will make me feel warm and bubbly inside.

If you watched the above videos Ron is against the war and political spending. Clinton and 90% of all the candidates will make americans suffer from taxs worse then we already are (my house's taxes per year was raise $380 a month from 2250, how fucking great is that shit).

What? Property taxes aren't federal. The major federal taxes are income and international tarriffs. I am a little "l" libertarian, and Ron Paul does us proud. I've been voting democrat for the past 7 years because the current republicans are big on nixing personal freedoms and protections, as well as spenidng on a deficit (at least Dems realize that government programs have to be paid for). But in reality, both parties suck for true libertarians. Vote Ron Paul in '08. (BTW, Big "L" Libertarians are completely out of touch.)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I'm hoping Ron Paul will run for President as a Libertarian once he loses the GOP nomination. He did it in 1988 and he would be a great spoiler candidate - like Ross Perot.

Yeah for me it's either Paul or Gravel. The only thing I disagree with on Paul is abortion, but that doesn't matter. He has this thing called logic, and I like that. He has something that speaks of humble intelligence. I've read a lot about him and he hasn't said anything that would turn me off. I'm usually regarded as a pragmatic liberal.

well I think his concept of abortion is interesting. He doesnt agree or disagree with it. He says its murder but he isnt against it if its to save the parent or for rape and wants states to decide if its legal or not for parent's choice if they just dont want it if they werent raped.

Im not sure if I will support anyone in this election. Although I will work whole-heartedly to keep the power hungry woman out of office.

@ Rath
I would suppose you are refering to me whenever you saying rednecks and all. I suppose your right. Being that I live in Southern USA, and I pissed if Hillary was elected. Feel warm and bubbly.

Do you not want her in office because of her gender? If so I will feel warm and bubbly on your behalf if she gets elected.

If you dont want her elected because of her policies then I'll have to find somebody else to feel warm and bubbly for.

Same applies for Obama, some people would have a fit at the thought of a black man in office. Him being elected would also make me feel warm and fuzzy.

I think it's the "power hungry" that bothers him, rather than the "woman" part.

It's naive anyway. You think there are politicians out there who aren't hungry for power? They all have an agenda, and they all need power to realize that agenda. Ron Paul wants power to realize his agenda, too. The question is which politician has the best agenda for you and for your country.

Well. I have been leaning Obama, and the only Rep I liked was McCain. However, after watching those videos and doing a little research on Ron Paul. I have to say I like the man. Especially his take on Israel (F AIPAC and the rest of the lobbists) and overall foreign policy.

I kinda disagree with his extreame ideas on IRS and Federal Reserve, but I am not financial analyst. So, his ideas could be sound.

I live in AZ and regardless of how I vote McCain will win this state in the primaries, plus, I registered as Dem. If he is there in Nov of 2008, very well may be voting his way.
