Forums - Nintendo - Just got Final Fantasy III

  So while browsing at Wal-Mart I found a copy of Final Fantasy III (DS) in the discount bin and decided to buy it. Now I have never played a main Final Fantasy game, (although I own IV and now III) and was wondering which I should start with. 

Im currently wrapping up Chrono Trigger and would love another epic DS RPG to follow it up.

So which shold it be III or IV?

Final Fantasy III (NES) and Fake Final Fantasy III (SNES) which is really Final Fantasy VI are both much better than the Fake Final Fantasy II (SNES) which is really Final Fantasy IV. Even the real Final Fantasy II (NES) is better than than Final Fantasy IV.

play III, if you find it bad multiply that a 100000 times and the result is exactly how bad FFIV is. III is decent IV is crap, sell it, or better toss it away so now one has to go through that piece of shit.

damn I had to read that three times to figure out what game was what lol, thankfully I already knew that

The battles are slow, the dungeons are boring and the whole game is very repetitive. There's also barely any story to make up for these shortcomings and the DS has many more RPGs that are much better than the third Final Fantasy. There really isn't any incentive to play this game, unless you are done with everything else you intended to play.


thats teh exact same reason why FFIV is bad

FF III is short, you can beat it in 20 hours, play that first.

The only upside to III is the job system, but the system in V trumps it anyway. It's easily the worst Final Fantasy game, at least, it is for me. It's one of those games that will really frustrate you, not due to difficulty, but due to poor design choices.

I'm also not a fan of the fugly chibi-graphics, but that's just me.
