Hey everyone,

I'm having difficulty grasping the concept of cancelling.  For example, I'm doing trial mode with Fei Long, and I can't seem to do the one that goes like so.

Hard P
Light K Chickenwing

Can someone give me tips on how to pull this one off??

Quick thumbs. Proceed with the combo's even if the timing feels awkward. Practice makes perfect.

Canceling basically means to stop one move and make another one go off in sequence.

If you walk up and do a FP up close, you can stop it at the point of contact (cancel) and perform a special move instead of the rest of the FP animation.

Basicaly, get close, throw out a lk, and have the chicken wing motion done and hit your kick butto0n to perform the chicken wing right as the lk is connecting.

SF4 is actually a very good game to learn the technique, because the input windows have been lengthened in comparison to previous SF games, meaning that you have a bigger window of time to do the motion.

You should first practice with easy quarter circle motions to get the concept down, and then graduate to harder things.

ok i can do the quarter circle ones really easily, but its these half circle combos that are really stumping me.  I've managed to pull off that chicken wing combo only twice but then can't for the life of me do it again.  I need to be able to do it for Fei Long's level 4 trials.  :S:S any tips?

Not really.

Just do it really fast, and get an arcade stick.

I have managed to finish every trial using my Sixaxis dpad, so arcade stick is not really required here.

Play my LittleBigLove level: search keywords "LittleBigLove realil"

LJ (Russian): http://realill.livejournal.com

I use a d-pad too. I never once said it was required.

He asked for a tip, and I gave one.
