Then please explain. Is it the lack of difficulty? The fact that it's not set in the medieval time (which has been overdone countless amounts of time)? The game kept freezing on you (even though that doesn't make the game content bad in any way)?

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

@ SHMUP (earlier post)

I disliked Meracle much more than Sarah. Sarah was stupid, but at least her stupidity was fairly amusing on occasion. Meracle freaked me the hell out. She had the personality of a small child, yet she wore totally revealing clothing.

Actually, my dislike stretches to the entire cast of characters. The only character that that I actually liked was Bacchus, since his subplot about being warmed by Edge's heart was hilarious!

Well, if we're doing this:

SO4 > LO > ToV > TLR > BD > ES.

I didn't really play IU even though I bought it almost two weeks after release and I didn't play EA (probably never will).

I'm sorry, but at the slightest mention of positive thing on SO4, I must butt in.

LO > ToV (big huge gap) > IU > ES > BD (big huge gap) > TLR > EA > SO4

@ Cactus

Well, I've noticed that with it installed I experience very frequent screen tearing and framerate drops. The game effects on screen will sometimes not be able to keep up the game. Charging, spell effects, etc usually make me dip below 20 FPS.

Uninstalled I find the framerate drops are less frequent but the load times are twice as long.

Lulz Outlaw... Well we agree on one thing.... VC > All!

JRPG's need to be lower in price than the mainstream games. They do not appeal to many people.

My other qualms (outside of the horrendus freezing and game design that made switch discs to visit certain areas. I thought we had evolved past that) would be story and the targeting.

The gameplay was very deep and there was a whole lot to do in battles. The horrendus targeting system turned some battles into nothing but a huge chore. Nothing like running in circles during a boss fight whenever you want to target the boss and not the little minions he spawned. That frustrated me.

I thought the story was developing very nicely up until you leave the Earth from the past. I thought getting there was an excellent twist and was truly excited. It just kinda went downhill from there.

@ numonex: Yet they can provide much more hours of gameplay than mainstream games, even if you know you will only play them once.

@ Seraphic

You need to actually play tales of vesperia......

And yes, Valkyria is awesome.

Is the targeting system really an issue? Just run to the edge of the battlefield while being close to the enemy you want to target, and in 2 seconds it will change to that target. No enemies in the game require you to attack them in certain areas anyways (other than the bosses, but were there really bosses that summoned minions? I don't recall that).

I thought the story was better than Star Ocean 3's at least, so I can't really complain about that. Sure, some things shown in the game are really out of this world, but hey, I thought it was truly a good sci-fi story! All I know is that I started to love certain characters I used to hate at the beginning when I was near the end of the game because the writing was not bad at all. The voice acting probably needed some work, but at the same time the mouth and body animations reminded me of Thunderbirds and old cartoons of the past. =P

Still, it's your opinion and it's OK. I mean, I know we're comparing a bunch of JRPGs that appeared on the 360 and not just the Star Ocean series. With that said, I believe SO4 is the best SO game out there, there's no denying that.

And I think it's the worst Seriously though, my guess is that the majority of Star Ocean fans who have been with the series since the beginning will probably say that SO2 is the best game in the series. This is just my opinion, but 3 and 4 are not even in the same league as 2.
