A new Xbox LIVE destination for all Halo fans.

Microsoft has announced that this autumn it will launch Halo Waypoint, a new destination for Halo fans on Xbox LIVE.

The digital destination will inform fans of the latest Halo news and activities, and grant access to content ranging from podcasts, trailers and screenshots, to exclusive video footage you won’t find anywhere else. It will also provide a new challenge for Halo gamers with a career system and player rankings tied to both in-game and out-of-game accomplishments related to Halo.

Halo Waypoint will host a preview of the recently announced Halo Legends anime series this autumn. Additionally, Waypoint will debut several behind-the-scenes videos that chronicle the making of Halo Legends.

Wonder what the career system is going to be like.  Halo will force its way into everyone's life.

Yeah, I've stopped paying attention to rankings and "career" in halo. Any time I start playing to rise in rank I get pissed.

However I'll definetly check out the "Halo Zone" on a weekly basis

Sounds like Microsoft is doing this right. Offer gamers the sections they want without having to load an application and walk around in a virtual world with strangers.

That's great let Halo Reach sell even more.

Is this going to be an xbox channel or whatever, or do we have to download it like an xbla game?

I would imagine it would be a download in the line of the Facebook and Twitter stuff.  It could possibly even be accessed via a browser.
