Off topic, can somebody tell me how to run windows media center on my xbox? My 360 is literally 1 foot from my pc and they run from the same monitor..

Do you have WMC on your PC? http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/nxe/GamesandMedia/SharingMedia/MediaCenter/ShareMediaFromMediaCenterPC.aspx

If you don't you could use Zune software or windows media player. Also might need to turn off your anti-virus software.

If your PC has Windows Media Center then you add an extender it creates a code you got to the Xbox add a media center it prompts for a code enter it then job done.

Alternatively if you do not have a version of Windows with media center built in you could use the connect a computer from the Xbox. This is a function of Windows Media player. That is pretty restrictive so I would recommend...

TVersity, this is a free media center software you connect to your PC to your Xbox. You connect it the same way you would the Windows media player option. It has many advantages as it allows you to also stream internet content to your Xbox examples being You Tube, Hulu for the US and BBCi Player for the UK to name a few (these features are actually pro and do require a donation). It also streams Music/Moveis/Photos and does the encoding on the fly which is sometimes usefull.

Obviously you will need to have both machines on the same network most probably connected via Router with a small hub on it.

Will it work without the xbox 360 wifi adapter?

The machines need to be networked whether you choose to do that via a Wi Fi connection or a standard LAN cable does not really matter.

Ah man thats lame!  I was really hoping you could listen while playing games.  I haven't been putting any music on my hard drive just for that reason alone.

If only I could figure out how to stream music to my 360 from my PC, but I just can't figure out how to.

That is actually very straight forward. Obviously you have the Media Center extender but that requires you have the Media center on your PC which is now reasonably common now that it comes with lots of versions of Vista and the soon to be Vista. Also you have the Media Extender client thingy which used very briefly.

The other is to use 3rd party streaming and encoding on the fly which is what I do. This allows you to stream Internet feeds such as the BBC Replay service as well as Movies, Music and Pictures.

I use TVersity http://tversity.com/ and have done for a long while and it works really well. Others to look out for are http://www.boxee.tv/homepage/  although this is not yet available for the Xbox at least but looks really good.

Sweet thanks.  I'll look into it.
