Lets say sony decides that they are done with the console races next gen and drop out, What will they do?

1. they could become a third party publisher and make good money.

2. sell every franchise they own to microsoft for billions to take on nintendo.

3. sell every fanchise they own to nintendo for billions to take on microsoft.

Im not going to name every franchise sony owns because im too lazy, but just to name a few big ones are

god of war,gran turismo,infamous,sly cooper,ratchet and clank,killzone,uncharted, and even the unreleased heavy rain.

thats alot of billions in sonys pocket if they sell them what do you guys think?

Then what games would they have or exclusives. This is a horrible idea.

A little short term profit isn't worth losing all of your long term franchises.

In my opinion the only franchise that would be intensely squabbled over is Gran Turismo. The other "franchises" (I'm not sure if Infamous or Heavy Rain could be referred to as a franchise) are of high quality, no doubt - but they don't sell enough (in my opinion) to have Microsoft or Nintendo to offer up millions of dollars in a bidding war (let alone a billion+ combined).
