Forums - Nintendo - Can you see Wii M+ having a 100% attach ratio?

You know the unfortunate thing about WSR is that a few games actually need more Wm+ units in order to play them. Dogfights in the plane level for example.

This was a clever way for Ninty to force multiple purchases.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Yea its pretty shitty KylieDog. I dk why they did it, to not fill up the disc with AI controlled dogfights or something.

no but I do see it having a decent attach ratio and perhaps being responsible for a wave of "core" or better games. We've already seen Tiger woods, EA Grand Slam Tennis, Red Steel 2 and now NHL Hockey 2010 supporting WM+.

Developers may now finally add a new depth to once shallow / buggy games with WM+ and not only can they aim at casual gamerts with non WM+ but they could please the others with a bigger more comprehensive and accurate control scheme with WM+ implemented.

I know this depends on sales but if there is a sudden wave of more depth, amazing controls games then who knows - one may encourage the other and the Wii may have a future with the core gamers yet?

Also: notice most of the WM+ games (so far) also have decent online modes - it's as if developers know their aiming at the core gamers and feel if you add a comprehensive online mode as well as WM+ it'll give them a leg up.

The Legend of Zelda is the only game announced so far I want that will probably use the Wii Motion plus, so until that games comes out I have no plans on buying one. If they end up not using the Wii Motion Plus on the next Zelda game I probably will not be getting one. The thing was announced over a year ago, why haven't we heard of more than a handful of games that are going to be using it?

no, there will always be people who will not buy them.

gotta say Tiger Woods with WM+ is one of the best games i've ever played - every shot, good or bad just feels it's down to you and never the controls fault and putting is just perfect.

If you even have a slight 1% passing interest in golf you should have a go of this game, I never get board of the daily online tournaments.

It's all about games and bundles: now we have 4 games which support it, if 90% of the future games will support it, then ... yes, sure. But without big games to support it or bundles with the Wii console it's very difficult to reach 100% of attach rate...now we are at mpore than 1m WM+ sold and 51m Wii, with WSR there will be a great boost for WM+ (and I hope also for the console, not like Japan).

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

50% will be unimaginable sales.

Wii HD will be released soon.

Repent or be destroyed

I have 3 motion plus units already

And i bought the fourth one for my sister.

I guess im ruining this kind of chart...

this gave me an amusing idea... *gamers around the world bought 50 million copies of **insert game here** on a gaming platform that has yet to reach 45 million sold. When we asked some people who bought the game they replied, "I'm sure I'll get the console some day... and I mean it's not useless until then, there's always the box art to look at..."
